It started with one person

Dr Jatin Joshi, spent years as a surgeon, making decisions where evidence really, really mattered. Then he became the patient.

After being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in 1999, Jatin fell seriously ill. Surgery left him struggling to eat and nutritionally depleted. He knew more than most about health and medicine. But when he searched for the supplements his body needed, he found an industry built largely around giving the same formulas to everyone.

He needed something made for him.

And that sparked a big question: what would it take to make supplements around the needs of just one person, rather than ask that person to make do with what’s on the shelf?

Jatin had seen the problem from the other side of the desk, too. One patient arrived with a carrier bag full of supplements. Fifteen bottles.

She was doing her best to look after herself. But when Jatin read the labels, he found ingredients competing for absorption. Some doses were too low for her needs. Others, way too high. The bigger problem was that nobody had looked at all fifteen bottles together.

No single bottle knew what was in the other fourteen. None knew the person taking them.

It brought the big question into even sharper focus. Making supplements for someone means knowing more than their health goals. It means understanding their health data, getting the doses right, and taking account of any medication they already take. It also means leaving out an ingredient when it isn’t right for them.

The right ingredients, in the right quantities, at the right time.

Jatin and his co-founders brought together people with experience in medicine, science, supplements and technology. Together, they built an adaptive system that uses your health data and the strongest scientific evidence available to precisely calibrate which ingredients you need, in what amounts, at what time. A unique formulation, hyper-personalized for you, then recalibrated every 30 days as your health data changes.

Jatin’s condition gave this work its urgency. His clinical training gave it a standard to meet. He’ll tell you that his own opinion isn’t evidence, however many letters after his name.

That’s why Personally exists.

We follow the evidence, pay close attention to the individual, and make supplements that adapt as personal health needs change. Because the person taking them isn’t just anyone. It’s you.
